Course Description

This course is designed to develop the participant's:

  • Awareness of the risks associated with Lockout Tag Out
  • Knowledge of Lock Out /Tag out safe work practices
  • Understanding of the control measures required during Lockout Tag Out procedures

Training shall consist of a combination of formal instruction (e.g., lecture, discussion, interactive, video, written material). Each candidate will undergo a theory assessment (multiple-choice questions) at the end of the course.

By the end of this course participants should be able to:

  • Recognize types of hazardous energy sources
  • Understand responsibilities to create and maintain safe conditions
  • Know to isolate and control hazardous energy with the use of “lockout/tagout” system
  • Understand isolation methods
